<p>Yep, I'm back again, except with a list of schools that I'm definitely interested in. I have a few questions, though; regarding Boston University, have they ever held auditions anywhere near Texas? This is my main problem with applying to this school because otherwise, it'd most likely be my top school.</p>
<p>SMU also has a set of qualms concerning academics and overall environment. Is it a relatively...daft and vapid campus? I don't mean to sound pretentious, but I'd like to meet people who are passionate and insightful, mainly because I've been stuck in a town which is absolutely apathetic and illiterate. I want to meet people who will, for lack of a better way to put it, challenge my opinions and thoughts. I know the theatre department is strong, but what about the rest of the campus?</p>
<p>University of Houston is also a bit of a problem, as I can't really find much information about its department on CC or elsewhere. Is its dramaturgy program respectable? I have to admit, one big thing that attracted me to this school is the fact that Edward Albee is a distinguished professor of playwriting... :P</p>
<p>And on to Rice: I know it has a theatre program, and that it's located in Houston's theatre district, and that its academics in general are superb, but what of its theatre department? I've grown to fall in love with the school as a whole, so...</p>
<p>Lastly, UT--how is their BFA program? Is it solely for those who seek the theatre education track? I know their graduate program is renowned, but, again, I can't find many specifics about its undergraduate department. I have read a few times, though, that few undergrads are cast in shows; however, considering my primary interest in dramaturgy/criticism, this wouldn't be much of a bother.</p>
