info on US courses (science mostly)

<p>I was wandering about the curriculum on some subjects (like math or physics).
Is there any place I can get this kind of info?
My GC needs this stuff to write in the school profile thingy for intl students.</p>

<p>The more details i could get the better.</p>

<p>Like, for example do you study things like the Stolz, "Claw" methods in calculus? Or space(triple) integrals?
Or in physics the complete demonstration of diffraction? (using complex numbers, integrals and everything)</p>

<p>Because the wide-spread rumor here is that most US high schools do not reach this level of difficulty, and i don't know just how exaggerated that rumor is.</p>

<p>Well, dunno for other schools, but Brown asks intl student GCs to write a more detailed profile. Not that detailed to contain info like this...we just want to know the relative "toughness" of courses.
Since we have no APs, or the sorts, adcoms may think courses here aren't that difficult. So by knowing just what is going on at the normal, honors, or AP courses, my GC may or may not be entitled to say that our courses are easier/tougher.</p>

<p>Dude you can find details of the AP program on the collegeboard website, just try and compare your level of a particular subject to that of the AP courses ?</p>

<p>That American Universities produce the best research? Yeah, that's right.</p>

<p>AP Exams are easy, so don't judge the entire population based on that test. You're not the only one who finds the test less-than-challenging. And, in AP classes, you literally do need to know that material in order to pass the class, so it's really not all that different.</p>
