I currently just finished my junior year and now entering into the final Chapter of High School.

My Senior Year!!!

I am very interested in Yale University, many people have told me it’s a Exceptional school. I have wanted to go to Yale since I was little and want to apply there and go in the fall of 2007.

I just want to know some information about it , for example ;What is needed for admissions ( SAT scores , SAT subject test scores…etc). I also want to know about average GPA and other items that are important for the admissions factor !!!

If some one can help me , I would be appreciative!!! Thank you!!!

Academics: Many successful candidates have all or almost all scores over 700, are in the top 10% of their graduating classes (with a majority of A's on their transcript and some, if any, B's).

Extracurriculars: Many successful candidates are seriously involved in their school communities in some aspect of student life, including arts, athletics, student government, or clubs, and have been recognized for their talents locally, regionally, and sometimes even nationally or internationally.

Personal: Many successful candidates evince in their application
1) a strong desire to go to Yale
2) intellectual passion and curiosity
3) ability to overcome adversity
4) something that has happened in their lives that has allowed them a deeper understanding of the human condition
5) enthusiasm

Ultimately, when you break it down, with over 20K students applying and less than 2K being admitted, one or more or all of the following will help your odds:
-Yale has to know that you can handle the work more than 20K other kids who are trying to show them the same thing, and doing well on SAT's and in school is the best way to show them that
-Yale has to know that you are passionate about something, and that you can bring this passion and consequent talent to their class in some area outside of the classroom
-Yale has to know that you will offer something to your fellow classmates that is unique and special and something that they can't afford to turn away
-Yale has to know that you want Yale badly

You will increase your odds dramatically if you apply under the Single-Choice Early Action policy. Even if you are deferred, a high percentage of deferred applicants are admitted regular decision because they know that those students wanted it. What are your stats (you can feel free to private message me if you'd like)? Good luck to you, and for that matter, to everyone on this board who is applying to Yale.

well technically they do, but it's another way to show them that you want Yale, and it can't hurt at all, especially if you are deferred to the regular pool and are being compared with a group of applicants who don't necessarily want Yale as bad as the person that applied SCEA does.
