isnt that a safety hazard? haha
i hope i dont get placed in a “triple room”

I have all the changes too. I have the option to pay my enrollment confirmation, and when I click on applicant status, I get the option to withdraw, defer, and pay.

I’m getting a bit nervous about the sheer amount of people with this change, but I will definitely call the office and check.

Congrats to all of you, I’ll hopefully see you on campus :D

I didn’t get off the waitlist, oh well. It sucks to be the second choice anyway. Choose a school that wants you back.

Doctadunk, if you are accepted off the waitlist it means that they do want you. You didn’t get in off the waitlist so they do not want you. Stop being bitter and making kids feel bad they only got in off the waitlist. Your immaturity is probably the reason you didn’t get in.

Well it’s like asking a girl out and her rejecting you and then after trying out another guy comes back to you. Makes you feel like crap, there is no way around it. Congrats to people who got off the waitlist, but still consider your school you already deposited to. Boston College considers you “second best”.

And me not getting off the waitlist is probably because I’m not a pompous rich ass who has everything layed out for him.

I like your analogy, lets go with it. Lets say BC is a bombshell, and at first she doesn’t like you. So you decide to date this ugly chick, aka lower your standards. You take this ugly chick out on a date, aka pay your deposit, and then this bombshell suddenly wants to date you. You can either ditch the ugly chick and date the bombshell, or stick with the ugly chick. So, seems like you like ugly chicks. I would be thrilled if that bombshell suddenly started noticing me and wanted to date me, aka accepted me off the waitlist. Furthermore, I think you did not get off because you weren’t smart enough. Take a basic course in economics and you will learn what a sunk cost is, aka your deposit. Sunk costs should bear no weight in the decision you make, from an economic standpoint. OWNED

sittnwaitnwishn, i have the same question about the forced triples. I mean if i find someone to roommate who got in ea/rd, i would hope that this still means i can room with them. I would think they wouldn’t just match us with other waitlisters since they need to follow the compatability surveys and stuff. maybe i’ll call.

the forced triple situation is a little less than ideal, but I am just so happy about getting in that i don’t really care.

also does anyone know if they mail us a housing application, or if it’s just the online thing on agora.

Dude or dudette calm down first of all. I was half joking but you obviously took it way too seriously. Of course if the opportunity arises then you should take it, but if you already have a good option waiting for you, don’t waste your time begging for a spot in a school that didn’t accept you in the first place.

I was obviously half joking as well. You do not need to shoot these kids down who were accepted into their dream school because you are jealous of them. Any of them would argue it is not a waste of time to “beg” for them to accept you if the end result is you are accepted. It is quite the opposite, one could argue it is well worth the time. And these opportunities did not simply arise for these kids, you even said it, they “begged” and as a result were accepted. They created the opportunities for themselves. You were foolish to not create this opportunity for you. Good luck at BU, its a good school

Not too sure what the above chatter is all about, but once you show up for Orientation, no one will know or care if you were accepted EA, RD or off of the WL. You will all be members of the Class of…

Housing info is provided later – it will be online, thru agora.

btw: everyone has different reactions to a WL. Some students say, the ‘heck with them, I’m going to a college who accepted me by March 31.’ Other students look at their options and believe that WL’ed school would be better for them and thier family, for any and all kinds of reasons.

There is no right answer. Do what works best for you. But don’t diss others for choosing a different path.

Yeah, I understand what you were saying. I just had a bad feeling about the whole situation when I got waitlisted so I didn’t even bother. I honestly wrote a song about BC, was going to record it and thought, “It’s not worth it. BC doesn’t deserve my respect.” For the kids who “beg” to get into BC, all power to them, but I just thought BC wasn’t worth my time or effort.

If I didn’t experience the change on agora, is it safe to assume that I didn’t get in off of the waitlist? or will there be additional waves for them to give out more decisions?

@ IamBrown you’re not off the wait list until they send you a letter saying the wait list is closed. Based on previous years, the wait list acceptances came in waves

I’m still waiting too :/

In past years, BC has accepted students off the WL until June 30…so more waves could be coming (depending on yield).

Ask your GC to call and lobby on your behalf. Send an updated e-mail with any senior awards. Let them know that you WILL accept if offered (saves them time from another wave).

Time to go BIG, in my opinion.

I want to email them a letter but WHATS THEIR EMAIL O_O
i can’t find it on the site…maybe i’m blind

check to see who signed your RD decision letter which discussed the WL. That person is likely your regional rep.

Call Admissions tomorrow and ask for that person’s e-mail address.

anyone new hear off the waitlist or have their agora changed since this week?
when do we think the next wave is coming?

My D just got the additional tabs today as well as links for Housing. Hope this is the news she has been waiting for!
