Information Science major

For current majors or those who have graduated from the program, could you please describe you experiences with the major. How do you like the classes? How difficult is it compared to other majors? Is there a lot of flexibility within the major? Are the job oppertunities any better or worse compared to a computer science major? How are the professors? Is the major looked down upon as an easier substitute to the computer science major? And any other thoughts you have on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Don’t mean to hijack the thread, but any info on the minor in info science would be greatly appreciated too!

bump…anyone?

I can tell you us CS majors don’t particularly praise info sci people. I have heard a lot of information science professors prefer taking CS majors as research assistants because info sci kids are shoddy coders. But that’s just hearsay

It’s not particularly hard from what I’ve seen. Definitely easier, workload wise, than CS.

bump .
