AHHHHHHHH! I just had surgery today for the second time beacuse of my ingrown toenail...apparently I had to have surgery for a second time beacuse it was "severe". The novocaine is wearing off and the pain is coming back...
Anyone else here had an ingrown toenail or am I the only one??

a lot of my friends in korea had it. It looked really common but i never had it. The pain just goes away i think after a week or two.

I don't have an ingrown toe nail, but there is definitely something wrong with it. It just doesn't look like a nail. There are those asian genes for you.

I did and there is a cool story to it... I got my feet run over by a porshe

So I got a ride to the art academy a few summers ago and when i got there I was getting out of the car (which was my neighbor's porshe) and he started to drive away not realizing my foot was in the way. It didn't hurt but (it just turn black and blue) and a few months later started bleeding. Then I discover it was ingrown and had the surgery. The this past summer I had to have a follow up because my brother step on my bare feet with his cleats.

so... your not alone....

Ughhh I have genetic toe problems. I'm not sure what your surgery consisted of but I once had "surgery" and all I really remember was squeezing my mom's hand really tight and crying my eyes out (I NEVER cry at the doctor, not for shots or anything) and a lot of blood. I believe the doctor basically just cut open the side of my toe and cut away the nail. Ugh.
If I don't pay attention to my toenails, I tend to get the same ingrown nail over and over again - like right now i'm having a problem. To solve it, I basically just try to cut away the part that has grown into the skin by pushing back that skin.

yeah this is pretty much the grossest post ever. good luck with your toe adventures...

i get ingrown toenails, especially during the fall because of XC. basically i just keep cutting the ingrown part down so theres like almost no nail on the side now.. sometimes it doesnt hurt, most of the time it's just constant pain haha. i'll eventually have to get something done about it because i just keep cutting it down so it'll feel better for like 1 day and then hurt again.. and there's nothing to cut down anymore. soo annoying but im afraid of having surgery or anything for it.

I had an ingrown toenail once, a few years ago. I had surgery on it also, and it sucked, but after a while it gets better.

Not that you didn't know that already. :/

I've never seen an ingrown toenail before so I looked up on google images (i have heaps of time) and the photos are GROSS and sickning
