I'm a transfer student interested in attending Drexel and I happened to stumble across this:

Visit Campus and Expedite the Admission Process
Schedule a campus visit and meet with an admission counselor by calling 1-800-2-DREXEL. If you submit a completed application during your visit, we will waive the application fee. To receive an instant admission decision, be sure to bring sealed, certified transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities.

Does this mean that if I bring everything with me during my visit, I can pretty much find out right away whether or not I'm accepted? Should I try this route? I'm going to be in Philly around the beginning of March, so I'll probably find out around the same time either way...but do you think this way, my chances would be higher? Because uh, that would be awesome.

My grandson just got accepted today, instant decision. He just made an appointment, took his transcript, wrote the essay and had the interview. The woman who interviewed him told him he is in. Transferring from a community college in Mass. GPA 2.7, with mediocre grades until the last few semesters when he has gotten all b’s . He is thrilled. Try it. It seems pretty easy.

I went for the instant decision day and i got accepted with a 2.8 but believe me it was a HARD EARNED 2.8. My first semester of college fall 08, i had a 2.18 gpa with a D in calculus and a C- in poly sci along with a C and 2 B+s. Next semester i had a 3.1 and then i got a C in a summer bio class (lab killed my grade since it counted as half my grade) and then a 3.45 last fall of 09. my point being don’t be scared to try if you have a 2.6 or over bc TRUST ME I think they will take you because my admissions counselor said my gpa was “good” not “ok” not “needed improvement” but good so you know what the average transfer gpa would be now and it’s definetely not ABOVE a 3 for sure, so all you borderline people dont worry about it too much. Improvement also helps, but shockingly when i spoke to the admissions counselor, she mentioned NOTHING about the improvement but it will help and btw just to mention it again, this is coming from someone who had a D in calculus and still got accepted:)! good luck to all who apply as transfers and hopefully i see you guys next fall :)!

It’s for transfers. I was accepted last week on instant day! I’m an engineering major and had a 3.8. They gave me their highest transfer scholarship, which is really helping make drexel affordable!
