Interested in Transfer...chances...?

Hi, I'm a freshman at Vanderbilt right now, and although it's an awesome school (and a lot of fun), there are certain aspects of the school that I know do not fit me (intense greek life, very limited diversity within the student population, more extensive political science program). Therefore, I am interested in transferring to an Ivy League school.

I had a unique highschool experience, considering I went to a very prestigious prep boarding school for 4 years. It's extremely competitive and most of students end up going to top notch schools. The school didn't rank students, but I'd say I was top 25-30 students out of 315 students. Keep in mind that over 50-60 kids matriculate at JUST Ivy leage schools, so top 25-30 isn't bad at all. I did a lot of work regarding anthropology in highschool, going on several archaeological trips down to New Mexico and Mexico for several summers. I had legitimate leadership positions in highschool(I won't go into details) that will help, if colleges do take highschool ECs into consideration. I had a 2260 SAT and 4 AP scores with "5"s.

So far, I'm the House President for my dorm, and am a member of the Honor Council at Vandy. I don't want to get involved in too much stuff, because I do want to concentrate on my GPA my first semester. Considering I succeed academically, what are my chances for:

Yale
UPenn
Dartmouth
Columbia (maybe)
Brown
(I know these are not your average schools, but a lot of my friends go to these schools and they encourage me to apply)

Also, how about Stanford? I heard they specifically don't take a lot of transfer students...

Thanks!

gpa! we need to know your hs gpa and perhaps speculate on your college gpa

sat score is nice, and will probably be important but to give you a better answer we need to know that gpa

Sadly your chances aren't very good. I'm not saying that because of your stats, but just from the sheer fact that the Ivies basically take no-one as transfer students. Yale took 23 transfers last year out of over a thousand applicants. Get a really good GPA, and make sure you get involved! I know you want to concentrate on your GPA first semester, but if you plan on transferring after this year that's not going to cut it. There are very few sophomore transfers at Yale and the reason being is probably that they just didn't have enough time to do anything really cool at their old university. The ones that did transfer in as sophomores were all incredibly involved (lots of research, ECs, etc).

Your chances are as good as anyone's, but without your college transcript and GPA, it's hard for us to give an estimate. Your high school stats will help you immensely, as they are of serious importance for sophomore transfers. What was your HS GPA? Just a tip, if you were rejected by any of those schools, it is unlikely you will be admitted as a transfer.
