Interesting scenario...

Hey guys,

I’m currently a senior in high school who thought he’d be done with college admissions… until disaster hit in May. I was accepted to Brown University regular decision, but on May I had my letter rescinded for academic dishonesty in my school. I was put on general probation and now I’m struggling to even find one of the colleges that accepted me to accept my enrollment.

I have a strong upward trend in my high school GPA, with my senior year being the best… despite the plagiarism, I still am on course for a 4.0 senior year, and had a 2380 SAT (which contributed to my prior acceptance to Brown). I know that I will have this general probation marked on my high school transcript. The question is, let’s say I attend somewhere like UCLA/NYU/Berkeley by some sort of miracle for college. Would a transfer to Ivies/Stanford/other top tier schools be a viable option? After freshman year? After sophomore year? I truly have learned a lot from this mistake, and I’m very much willing to own it, but I don’t know how much my high school demise will affect me as I prepare for a transfer. Thank you so much!!

Perhaps you should consider going to a CCC for two years and then transferring to UCB. UCB does not ask for high school records.

@lindyk8 But noo Berkeley isn’t good enough for him (or her). He/she wants to transfer to an Ivy, which is unlikely. I think CCC is a pretty good path at this point, if the OP can bring himself to go to community college after thinking he was going to Brown.

@music1990, this has been a tough year up here on CC. :-@
