I know interhall football is a big deal at Notre Dame and such and that tryouts are held for the team but how good, or big do you have to be to make the teams?

Mike or irish#'s said that most of the players could play division 3 or maybe even division 2 football...

From what i heard they are incredibly talented....

I know the observer covers the games.. and sometimes there are pictures and stats and maybe you can get a good idea from that

im assuming you def have to have skill..... but IMO size is overated in football... quickness is more important

The teams are pretty competitive, but if you have some skill you probably can make some position. Even if not, there are a ton of intramurals out here that you can be a part of. Also, dorms like mine have section football as well where anyone can play.

BBC-My H and I watched the final game, Morrissey vs ONeil in the stadium two weekends ago and were so impressed with the talent on that field!
My H mentioned many of those on the field could be playing Div 3 football at other schools. The game was filled with high drama, long completed passes, hard hitting, and THREE dramatic interceptions, which resulted in our S's dorm, Morrissey winning.
The parents of the boy who made the last and decisive interception were sitting in front of us, and I asked if there son was a "superstar" on hig high school team. Very modestly, they said he was.

It was thrilling to watch this intense, exciting game from the fifth row at the 50 yard line, and then to walk with other celebrants on the field that day. Truly a highlight of our trip.................(our son was in his dorm's cheering section and was thrown up when Morrissey scored the second goal, and that was thrilling to see to :)

hope this helps

I am also in Morrissey and watched the interhall championship. Load of fun. It's an extremely competitive thing at ND, it gets big write-ups in the Observer, and they have referees and the "chain gang" at every game.
