Intern and/or research during the academic year

<p>I have a question. I will be transferring next year as a computer engineering major to a 4 year university from community college. I know I want to do some research, I just don't know when. </p>

<p>What would be better? Intern during the year/summer, or research during the year/summer. </p>

<p>Most schools let you do research as long as you can commit to 15 hrs a week during the school year. I think I will try research during the regular school year and then try to find a internship(paid) during the summer. </p>

<p>Does this sound like a good plan?</p>

<p>That is typical, I think.
Honestly if you are not interested in grad school, research may not even be necessary.</p>
