Internal transfer between colleges within Northwestern?

Just out of curiosity, how common and easy is it to transfer between the different colleges (For example: from WCAS to McCormick, etc.)? And when would the earliest time an incoming freshman could do so?
Thanks for your input! :D

it’s common, easy, and can be done before enrolling by emailing the deans for each college. transferring into medill is more difficult and less common however.

What about as a sophomore transfer? I want to study Industrial Engineering, but I feel like it might be easier to transfer to NU through WCAS and not directly to McCormick. Bad choice?

Is it possible to be first admitted to WCAS and then later apply for a dual degree at WCAS and Bienen School of Music, if I so decide?

kackac,

not sure. but you want to transfer from Tufts which doesn’t have industrial engineering. you’d have an easier time to explain why you want to transfer to NU if you apply to McCormick. it’s always easier to present what’s on your mind than making up a story which could easily backfire.

lostasian2, yes, it’s possible, my friend has done it, but it will be much easier to do if you apply for the dual degree ASAP
