Internal Transfer to CNS?

hey guys

i got into ut into the College of Liberal Arts as my second choice major.

i wanna be a bio major tho so i was wondering what my options were...
i heard that you can do an internal transfer into the College of Natural Sciences
is this possible and if so, is it hard? is it competitive? when would i be able to do this?

thanks in advance!

Not hard and not competitive at all.

Talk to an advisor during you’re orientation. You may be able to get everything done and transfer colleges during orientation before you even start classes.

thanks for the response

does anyone know if there is a number of hours in residence that is required before i can make the switch?

thanks again

BUMP

anyone?

crimson. isn’t that the team color of that school in Norman, OK?

Other than that, you should be able to transfer within.

you neeed to have at least 24 hours in residence before internally transferring

In the past students have sometimes been able to transfer administratively right away, in the summer when they register, before 24 hours in residence. This may work out if CNS is not particularly “over-full” compared to CLA. Otherwise, there are sessions during orientation for people who plan to transfer, to help you be sure everything you take freshman year applies to your planned major.

thanks for all the input…i really appreciate it

You are only able to transfer majors within the college you have been admitted to during orientation. (I was informed of this when I attempted to change majors at orientation…) But as long as you tell your adviser what you really want to do, they will help you pick the right courses in order to make transferring much easier.

On the bealonghorn website, it says that if you want to switch majors, you just have to send the admissions office a letter saying so…but I don’t know whether this is for changing schools or only majors within a college.
