Internal transfer?

Hi everyone!

I am applying to UPenn for admission as a freshman, but I am curious about the difficulty of transferring from one school to another within the university (if it is possible at all). I’m thinking about applying to Wharton with a concentration in Marketing & Communication, but if I were to get in and realize that I wanted to transfer to the College of Arts & Sciences, would I be able to do so? And, as a follow-up, I’m sure it would be just about impossible to go the other way, no?

I would appreciate any insights you might have!!

Going -from- Wharton to other schools at Penn is easy, if your grades are acceptable. However, transferring INTO Wharton is difficult (but not impossible).

Transferring to SAS usually requires a modest GPA and the ability to still graduate in 4 years with the classes you’ve taken so far. Going the other way is harder. It used to be a GPA cut-off around 3.9 – now there’s also an essay component to the internal transfer.
