Ease of transfer OUT of Wharton?

I was wondering how easy it would be to transfer out of Wharton to the SAS at Upenn after the 1st year. Would I still be able to finish school in 4 years or would I have to take a bunch of other classes to fulfill the requirements.

Basically, in case Wharton doesn’t work out, am I screwed for going to the LAC part of Penn (SAS)?

At the Penn info session they said transfer out of Wharton or Engineering is very easy, transferring into either difficult because of stricter requirements.

This is true.

The requirements are a lot easier because there are no prerequisites to transfer into the College (although you might want to have taken some liberal arts classes so that you at least know what you might want to major in). Keep in mind that no matter what school you want to transfer into, you need a minimum of a 3.40 gpa to even apply (although maybe SAS has more flexibility around this requirement than Wharton does). So if you are doing poorly in any school (even if it is Wharton) and want to transfer out to another school within Penn (like SAS) you still have to have decent grades.

sucks for Penn, at Cornell, all you need is a 3.0 and transfering is realllllly easy.

To transfer into the college you need a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and are 99% guarenteed a transfer if you meet that.

To transfer into wharton you need a 3.4 min GPA to even apply, and to get in you need around a 3.6-3.7 (you also need to take math 104 and econ 1 and 2)

To transfer into engineering you need a 3.0 GPA to apply and I'd say most people that apply (as long as you have the pre-reqs) would get in, since there are many more people transfering out than in.

hope this helps :)
