Does anybody know /or have a basic idea of how competitive is it for an int'l to get into Cornell?

im an international applicant, and got in ED, and i do not have any exceptionally great stats

depends on if you need money

i'm not applying for fin.aid. But how much would this help? I mean, I'm still Intl..

you will get in easily... they want money from internationals.

but then why is it that i constantly hear "admissions for intl's are hard?" is it because most of the int'l applicants have good stats?

well... if you have money it's not "that" hard... so since you're loaded, don't worry, ^^... on a more serious note, most countries don't really have that many "reserved" spots, which does not mean that there are quotas, but that there's a target number of ppl they want to admit from country XY and they usually don't deviate from it significantly. Yale for instance admitted 2 Germans last year, and 240 applied. so you can see that the admit rate is discouraging at best... I don't mean to scare you off, but international admissions is harder, NOT because the international applicant pool is stronger than the US one (this rumour is wrong, btw!), but because they tend to take a lot fewer students relative to the number of applicants.

Do things change when you're an int'l residing in the US, instead from a foreign country?

and what if you want finaid?
