CTC2, I don't think anyone from our region (south asia) has received his/her decision ... let's just hope we get it tommorow. I really hate northwestern for what they have done, this whole system is sucking the life out of me. How much effort does it take to post the decision online?

Northwestern's application seems really specialized and unique (reminds me of UChicago) so perhaps they want the decisions to be personal, too? (I can't believe they're going to Common Application next year! That really depersonalizes NWU's app, which I found great, though I didn't apply.)

Lakshmi, Acceptance, and all other people who are awaiting college admission decision, MY BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU. :)

Just remember, an acceptance is just a cherry on top of the cake. You all are already awesome, so not receiving a heartening decision wont make u any less amazing. Just believe in yourself!! :)

I got in Norteastern University in Boston,MA.

Congrats Churalska!

Sweet city, uni and co-op program! You'll be getting money while in uni! Niiiice. thumbs up

Thank you so much for the nice words. By the way I have always wanted to be part of the whole world. I am really happy that you also exist and I hope to meet up with you some day.:)

thanks for the reassurance waleed. I called fedex today and there is no fedex for me, and nothing sent from Northwestern. I think its safe to presume its a rejection...

puritania, i didnt apply for financial aid. I have a 2180 (760M, 690V, 730WR) in SAT I and 760/750 in SAT IIs, and a rejection has come as a big big surprise to me. NU was a match school for me.

come on, dont give up hope! you dont know anything for sure yet!!!!

good luck to those of you getting decisions today (vassar?)!!!!!

and remember: you can only study at one college at the time, so one acceptance is enough! (but of course you want it to be your first choice)

CTC2, I hope you called Fedex USA and not INDIA.

^^^ I mean Norway

I called Fedex norway....where i live at the moment. They checked if there was any fedex in my name, and also if there was any fedex sent from northwestern (not specifically just to me). Both the replies were no, so im positive that they havent sent it. oh well...life's tough

thanks for the support flowertje. btw did u apply to NU?

CTC2, this girl from MIT (Anne - on MIT Blogs) had the same problem. She called DHL Thailand and they said "NO" but then she called DHL and they said yes.. try calling USA if its not much of a problem. No harm trying

yeah. if i dont get anything tomorrow, im calling Fedex USA for sure

callthecops2, hang in there! I'm sure there are a lot of other schools that would be excited to have you there... you didn't get lucky with NU. A friend of mine was accepted to DArtmouth, Princeton, Cornell, colgate, Middleburry and she was rejected to Vassar...so, you never know. Maybe a greater school will accept you. Try and have a good night's sleep. :shares a cup of tea with you:

thanks puritania :)

there have been many situations when safety schools rejected some of their applicants just because they were "too good to be true", as in they knew they wouldn't enroll if accepted so.... don't worry much abt it ;)

I got waitlisted at MHC.... :( wails sad

Dear Izzy:

The Admission Office at Mount Holyoke College is sending this email in advance of your official written notification of the Admission Committees decision on your application.

After carefully considering your application for admission to the Mount Holyoke College Class of 2010, we have decided to place your name on our wait list. Please know that we recognize your potential and remain very interested in your application.

This year our applicant pool was the largest, most highly qualified, and most diverse group in the Colleges history. Admission to Mount Holyoke has never been more competitive. Our decision to place you on the wait list both recognizes your talents and reflects the limited number of spaces available in the Class of 2010.

We encourage you to give serious consideration to our offer to remain on our wait list. In recent years, we have admitted students from the wait list, and we may move students from this years list as well.

Oh, stop with the condolences. Very interested in my app, as if! wails MHC is one of the most diverse colleges! And it's got halal/kosher dining! I could've eaten there like a starved person and not worry anymore about my low blood pressure!
