Do international banks recruit from American colleges or do you have to go to a college in the country to be recruited? I'd love to work in Paris for SocGen. Would they come over to recruit from Harvard, Wharton, Princeton, etc.

They would recruit there but only for their New York offices. If you want to work in Paris you would have to apply to the Paris office. Chances are, unless you speak flawless French (like a native speaker) you would not be moved to the Paris office, given that there are plenty of equally qualified French and Swiss applicants who have not only the industry knowledge, but local knowledge, language knowledge, and cultural knowledge as well.

Why work for a 3rd rate bank like SocGen? For the chance to go to Paris it's not worth it. Just buy a ticket and move there if you like it so much.
