I hope that only the best intl students are on CC and that only the best of them contributed to this thread, because it is quite scary to be one of the worst with score, which is enough for 97 percentile…

^ probably is only the best intl, most other intl do not know what they are up to.

i ll post mine up too. pretty bad scores, especially my writing section, and its making me really stressed up!

SAT1: (2080)

M: 780
W: 610!!! (omg will this kill me terribly? - if CR+M i ll have 1470 which is pretty alright!)

SAT2:

SAT Subject Tests
Math II: 800 Chemistry: 800

to sixfoottall - I laughed at first, because imo 2080 is good, even for american, but when I got to your list I understood. I hope you’ll be lucky, but Harvard is a reach…

to jjavdm - I guess you’re right, unfortunately. I was told by a counsellor from Fulbright agency in Czech rep., that my scores are extremely high for Czech student, and that stuents with similar scores have been accepted to Ivy schools very often…I thought he was exaggerating and so I applied only to some top LAC - Williams, Swarthmore…, but no Ivy.
Now I think that it was a right choice because in comparison to the rest of int’l students here I dont stand a chance.

btw I have one question, and maybe you could help me.
I was told that if we achieve something (high score on a test, some accademic competition etc.) after we submitted our application, we should contact the admission office and tell them.
On December 5, I scored the highest point total of all who took the same test - 100 points out of 105. The test is called “OSP” - acronym for “General learning potential test” - and it is used by many schools in Czech Republic (and even in Slovakia) as an admission test (that means that I will haave no problems to get into almost every school in my country). Moreover, it is quite similar to SAT.
Do you think I should contact them and try to improve my chances?

Thanks for help.

^ make your counselor submit this score with mid-year report, if it is not already submitted.

Thanks, that sounds good. I was planning to send them an email, but this is better.
However, I dont know if there is some space for this on the Mid-term form.

I’ll bite.

SAT I:
CR: 750 M: 720 W: 770 (11)
2240

SAT II:
Bio-M - 760
Math II - 760
Lit - 740

Compared to CC, utterly mediocre. Le sigh.

Lol mine’s the lowest math score.

Nice.

Ridiculous CR and W more than makes up for it, in my eyes.

CERMI: Yeah i understand your point. 2080 is average i guess, but when it comes to the schools im applying to, its a huge reach. but i do have quite a bit of safety schools. anyway, my school grades are fine, essays and recs are fine too, the only thing dats ****in me off is my writing section. HAHA. :)

I have a feeling that international students can get away with lower SATs if there’s plenty of evidence of ability in other areas.

My son got 800 (CR) 620 (M) and 620 (W) SAT I
English Lit 720 and World History 620 SATII

Low scores mainly because we simply don’t teach to these sort of tests in the UK and he had to mug up for them on his own.

We know nothing in the UK of GPAs, class rankings, honors and so on, so the school struggled to fill in the Transcripts.

However, he had excellent GCSE grades - all A and A* - and 3 A grades at A level to compensate.

Then he wrote a stunning personal essay.

He was accepted at all his choices; Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Columbia and NYU. I’ve no idea how he would have got on with Harvard, Princeton or Yale, because he just wasn’t interested in applying to them.

My feeling is that international students have to sell themselves in any way they can, but will be judged a little more flexibly than others.

Do you think the bell curve is different for each nation?
I’m from Singapore &

690 (W) 680 (M) 710 (CR) - 2080 & i think i’m kinda screwed because my scores are low as compared to most other singaporeans applying to my schools.

lit 650 (lowest now.)
math ii 700 :(

No, they are the same I think.
