International Student Art School Admission call for help!!

Hey, guys...
Okay, so I'm going to be a future international student coming from a country where the arts are, point blank, neglected to NEAR nonexistence--mainly it's its support and respect for the field that's nonexistent.

For all my life, I've had no one guide or train me in the arts, I had nothing but my instinct, passion, and imagination to create what I currently have--AND I'M SICK OF IT (not being trained that is LOL). In all twelve years of my education, no matter which school I transferred to (and I transferred a lot), even the other schools I wasn't able to transfer to all view Art class as nothing more but one thing: Free Period. The one period where teachers can be as unlicensed as you can get, where they can just tell you to cut paper (yes, to 12th graders too) and finger paint them, not caring what happens during the class; where students can get the chance to jump and dance on their desks while the teacher chats on her phone on the latest gossip.

Nevertheless, for once in my life I want to be taught and guided to refine the raw skills I know I have. I'm not one to boast about myself, in fact, I never give myself the chance to. But I know it, as true and pure as aspirations are, that I have rough potential that needs to be smoothed out to it's fullest. And I won't ever attain that by staying where I am. If God won't permit me this time, I'll try again. And again and again until I've reached the goal I've set for myself.

I plan on majoring in animation and film, with a minor in illustration or creative writing. But seeing that art schools are pretty rigor, I'll just have to make do with what I can and set aside the others momentarily until I grab the opportunity to excel in them as well.

I'm passionate, ambitious, determined, persistent, and hate anything unoriginal or uncreative... my question is: Will Art schools accept or give me a chance with the lack of formal or ANY art training/background?
My eyes are set on CCA, Otis, SVA, MICA, RISD and RIT.
Though MICA and RISD are kinda discouraging, especially the latter. My original aimed schools were Sheridan and CalARTS, howbeit going straight to them isn't a practical move for me to start fresh off the "no art background" thing. So I've set them aside and adjusted my plans into that of which I'll start somewhere else, Ace in them, then transfer my credits to said schools. However of course, RISD is just as difficult to get in, but I listed it down anyways as my way of thinking, "Hmm.. You'll never know. Maybe a 'rough/slumdog' artist might actually make it." but the more I look up their admission requirements and accepted portfolios the more I feel discouraged. They're asking for more than I know, and... to put it simply: I'M FREAKING OUT.

I'm currently on a gap year due to personal and financial issues. Throughout the months since my graduation, I've been lost and confused on where to go after being discouraged with my dreams for so long. But I've finally put my foot down. Sure, it took lots of arguing, conflicts, etc. but we've reached a compromise.
So, everything is on the line here, I've made a deal with my parents to send me abroad, and that opportunity might not resurface again. The road on realizing my goals is set on drive and I really, really don't wanna slam the breaks just when the gates have finally opened.

Please, I'm begging for your help. I'm so lost, helpless and on my own here. None of my family and friends know the first thing about art school let alone apply for them. I don't exactly KNOW what admissions want to read in the essay portion and see in my portfolio (btw, I don't know how to organize one as well, yepee..). And since I've never taken classes or was given the opportunity to apprentice under anyone qualified, I don't know or have any life drawings.

Just... help. ANY form of help, on what to do and where to go, ANYTHING, and I'll be "eternally grateful" --Toys Story (sorry, couldn't help it! xD haha I just heard their voices play in my head. clears throat AHEM. OK, FOCUS.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my dilemma...
Your help would mean so so much.
Thanks.

P.S. No, there are no professional art centers here or ANY art center that teaches beyond elementary school level art in case you were gonna suggest going to one prior to art school. Trust me, if I could, I would.

P.P.S. sorry for the rant.. hehehe sweat drop desperation tends to do that to people hehe

Are we to assume cost of up to $250,000 is not a problem?

Do some browsing in the Visual Arts and Film Majors forum. You might get better answers there.

You don’t have to go to art school to find respectable to great art and film departments. Scan this list. There is a range of selectivity and prices here. Some programs may suit you more than others for the area you want to specialize in.

Yes, I’ve considered the tuition fees and my family and I are working on earning a scholarship from my home country’s government project of sending young aspiring citizens abroad for a better educational experience that they can bring back here once they’re successful graduates.

Thank you so much for the list, but I’ve already done my research in terms of where I want to study, and my choices are solid. I not only want to major in Animation and film, but I also want to learn and experience the other fields of art as well. I’ve done my in-depth research on multiple schools and learned about them as much as being abroad can permit me, and I’ve narrowed my choices down to the six I’ve mentioned earlier. It’s easier for me to stay on the west coast too considering I have multiple family members living there. (so Otis and CCA are the easy choices)

But thank you so much, do you have any advice on the application/admission process though? anything at all will really help, thanks…
