International Student Asking for Help...

Hello CC,

Can anyone give me SPECIFIC names of full-scholarships for international students?
Just like you have the Rhodes Scholarship at the postgraduate level, isn't there anything like that at the undergraduate level but on an international scale?

A perfect SAT Score is a huge achievement, are there scholarships for that?

Thanks in advance. :)

I think the answer to your question is probably no–there are no US programs that award full scholarships specifically to internationals studying in the US. Most scholarships are awarded by the individual colleges, and full scholarships are quite rare. You’ll have to investigate each school’s scholarship program to determine what merit awards you may qualify for. (For example, a perfect SAT score does seem to secure a very nice award at the University of Alabama.) To start, search the threads in this forum that discuss guaranteed merit scholarships. Once you’ve identified some likely programs, you’ll have to determine in each case whether internationals are eligible.

Thank you for your advice. However, I think you didn’t get part of my question… I was
asking about scholarships given on an international scale, as opposed to scholarships from US programs; that is why I gave the example of the Rhodes Scholarship at the postgraduate level.

In that case, I suggest you post your inquiry on the International forum.

What you want to look at are these programs, administered by the US State Department: [University Students](http://exchanges.state.gov/programs/university.html) Global UGRAD might be the closest to what you’re thinking of, but it wouldn’t pay for a full degree program.

IIE also administers a number of scholarships that are usually specific to students from a particular region or a particular area of study

As the other commenter pointed out though, most scholarships for undergrad students are administered through universities. IIE and IEFA both maintain pretty good lists of scholarships from universities and private organizations: [International Scholarships Search | IEFA - Browse Awards](Browse Awards | International Scholarships Search | IEFA) [International Scholarships | Funding for US Study](http://www.fundingusstudy.org/)

If you are a good n promising student with ECAs try Harvard, Princeton [Very Generous], Yale, Dartmouth, Brown.

No specific scholarships for internationals but you can apply to top schools who give generous need based aid.
