international student with a dilemma

Hi everyone,

so I keep getting told that international students have a much difficult shot at getting into the prestigious colleges, in particular the ivies, so I want to increase my chances by applying ED.

the only problem is which one- I have JHU, Upenn, Cornell and Brown which I love equally- and since I’m an international student I can’t visit any of the campuses to help make up my mind.

which of these colleges look most favourably upon international applicants (esp ED)?

thank you all

Well, certainly not UPenn, and I don’t think Brown or Cornell. Probably Johns Hopkins would considering fewer people apply and it is a bit easier to get into.

don’t apply ED just because you think you might have a better chance of getting in.
ED is for students that are committed to a single college and are sure that they want to go there, which it seems that you are not.
therefore, I suggest that you do not apply ED to any of these colleges. maybe try EA. good luck!

As an intl applicant, your chances are bleak at all of them. So rock, paper, scissors is as good a selection methodology as any.

By pragmatically, the best logistical options for intls would be schools w convenient access to a major intl airport.

@jarrett211 thank you, I’ll keep that in mind!

@paraguas I love all three equally so I wouldn’t mind any of them. is that not enough of a commitment? :frowning:
thanks though!

@gmtplus7 my family all live in the US so an access to an airport will not be necessary.
how bleak is ‘bleak’?
