International student wondering whether to take world history or us history

I’m a sophomore studying in England and plan to apply to the US because my sister goes there currently. I know its early but I have been advised to start studying or reading the text book of a SAT Subject test. I am going to take either US History or World History partially because I have no interest in sciences. I have ordered the Barron’s US History book and have started to read through it. Also, my history curriculum in my school teaches us basically everything about America from WW1-Vietnam war and I feel I have a pretty good understanding of that material. However, I have been told that the world history curve is much more lenient and that I will have a better shot at getting a higher grade in that as if I take US History, as I will be competing mainly with people who have taken APUSH and have a much better knowledge of the course than compared to myself who is self-studying. Please help as I am quite confused on what to take as even though I have a lot of time, I would like to start early.

Take the US History as it will be easier for you to study. Also, you should take Literature as no external studying is required.

Take US History. World history is such a broad subject that if you havent been studying, i do not think you will score well
