Hey guys,

I graduated from high school in Peru, and I'm attending to a community college. Also, I'm a permanent resident of U.S. If I try to transfer to another school (4 years school), Will I be considered an international student?Would get a GED diploma be a good idea? If you wonder what the CC is considering me, I have no idea.

If you’re a permanent resident of the US, you won’t be considered as an international kid. :)

You don’t need to get a GED diploma. You can transfer to a 4-year college with your community college coursework.

awesome. thank you guys

Set up an appointment with the transfer counselor at your community college. They can help you with the whole process.

Good luck!

are you considered an international student if you are a legal resident but not a permanent resident?

^ Yes.

You are considered American only if you are a citizen, a green card holder, or in some cases, Canadian.
