International Students SAT I & II results, Oct 2004

heehee...wow ur stats r really good. imagine having 1600 for ur sat!! gosh...im overwhelmed...actually a small part of me was wishing for a 1600, but then i told myself not to be stupid n be realistic n all dat. sigh... wishful thinking, really. wat schools r u applying to then? im applying to like 15 schools, just to be safe.

oh dat was to matheholic...

vanillaice - Hehe, I think my SAT I score was a very, very lucky fluke. But I have 3 SAT IIs in 2 weeks, which I will likely bomb.

Yeah, I'm applying to about 10 schools... I live in Canada, so I'll try half Canadian (where the tuition is so much cheaper it's unreal) and half in the US. In the US, I am hoping for MIT, Caltech, WUSTL, and John Hopkins. The first 2 I am only applying to out of childish dreaming (my parents joked when I was little that I would go there) since I could never afford them. But I hope I can get some money to the others.

800M
560V

IIC 800
German w/out L 780
Writing 680

Physics 800
MATH IIC 800
Writing 690..

SATI 600V 800M
I am a Chinese in Hong Kong.. Are those good enough for a Top 30~50 LAC with FA?crying...verbal part...sigh...

aaaaagh. i feel the only stupid one around here.

1350: 660 V and 690 M....I thought Ii got everything right in math..duno what the hell happened there.

My rank is 1/80 in the most competetive international school in korea, but i feel like a complete idiot surrounded with 800s in math and 700 + in verbal.

and i was thinking of applying to stanford EA....eeeugh..what a mistake.

I was wondering how much the US unis actually look into the SAT for internationals. Is it the same?

V610 M800. It is much better than what I expected. Hoping for Columbia, Carleton, WUSTL.

im applying to, like, 15 schools....i know its a lot but i wanna keep my options open. yale ea, stanford, northwestern, vanderbilt, carleton, davidson, washington&lee, oberlin....shall not name them all. as i've said, im also applying for scholarship. all my family and friends said that i can do it but i dunno!! nothing's for sure. especially when it comes to applying to uni in us. now im sending in all my application materials..sobsob...horrible job...so many stamps to lick...and i have my o levels comin up!!!

Angi*

Where abouts are you based in the UK and which school?

I have a cousin in London

vanillaice- 1510 is a superb score and you should be very proud. Of all the colleges you mentioned I think that you have an excellent chance of getting into all of them, but be wary, both Vanderbilt and Northwestern have very stringent financial aid policies when it comes to intl. students. I suggest you take at a second look at them.

New topic - Is there anyone out there who have revised their list of colleges, based on their Oct SAT score?
For instance, I have absolutely given up on the idea of applying to any of the Ivies, and may add a few more LACs to my list (I have Kenyon, Trinity and Wooster in mind)

mellowjello:
Kenyon? I was once informed that they had extremely limited fund for international financial aid.. maybe macalaster or bard will be a better choice, isn't it?

hi
just joined

Sat I- 800 verbal
800 math

can someone tell me what chances I have of getting into Williams in ED?

if you could get it up a 100 points or so you'd be a shoo-in...

oh c'mon, tell me where i stand with regard to williams, please

gandalf, all you said was that you have a 1600!! sixsixty's jab is pretty justified. tell us more.

ok
i am from india--academics around 87% on a 100% scale--have some merit certificates in science and math olympiads--interests: reading, swimming, table tennis, chess, indian classical music--no great certificates there; done some community service for destitutes and taken part in cancer awareness campaigns. interested in physics major

rank 1 of 167
won prizes for my science projects

Oh wait vanillaice, you're applying to US right after your O levels? Smart move! I really wish I'd known more about applications and stuff, and especially about financial aid - then maybe I'd have sent in applications two years ago. Oh well. Not sure if you're aware of it, but RJC actually limits us to 8 US university applications. My list is now: Yale (EA), Bard, Harvard, Lawrence, Oberlin, Sarah Lawrence, USC and Wesleyan.

BTW, my SAT scores stand thus:
690V, 800M, 800 Writing, 800 Math2c, 800 Physics (after retaking in Oct).

Not happy about my verbal score but not sure if I want to go through the SAT I again (I've only taken it once)...

Hey. i live in scotland and i'm at lenzie academy, which is a middle-class state school you've probably never heard of! my mum lives/works in london and i was there last week. what school/uni is you cousin at?

omg. you guys with your v.v.high SAT scores. i was hoping to get over 1500 and only apply to harvard. but now i realise that is just plain silly.
