International Students to IIT(India)

I wish to enquire is there any other ways for International Student to enter IIT in India?

My country has a "Self-Financing Foreign Students scheme" for students to India to study. Is it applicable to IIT?
As I know Ed Cil has also a DASA scheme for students to NIT.

Just curious whether how International Students enter IIT?
Do we still have to take the JEE?

Thanks!

There's an UK citizen who was planning to give JEE on TiT, so i guess Int'ls also have to give JEE.

I don't think there's any other way.

Thanks for your reply!
Erm, could you explain what do you mean by " give JEE on TiT"?
Thanks!

The JEE is the Joint Entrance Exam for admission to the IITs. TiT is the The Indian Thread in the international students forum.

Yes, I'm that UK citizen. :) I don't know whether a foreign citizen living outside India can take the JEE, though (since the application form requires Indian qualifying marks and whatnot), but you could probably look things up and see.

Even A-level holders can give it, and i think they have examination centers in Dubai and Singapore also.

I have actually contacted a officer from IIT and he said even Internationals have to take the JEE.

I am still waiting news from the Indian High Commision from my country on how should I apply though.

Ah, then it isn't a problem. My error (didn't remember how exactly I'd filled that form out).

Hi Noldo. I don't really understand you reply... could u explain a little bit more?

I was responding to Abhi -- I wasn't sure whether one could take the JEE with non-Indian high-school qualifications, but he mentioned that one indeed could. :)

But then when I surf the IIT website.....I don't see any international cerntres, all in India I think...

Where do you got the info Abhi?

U better contact the Admission office for the Examination centers...

"Where do you got the info Abhi?"

A levels are mentioned in the IIT-JEE prospectus. You can view it on the site, I think.

Yup, I did saw it but what I am concerned of is the examination centres,
no International Centre is mentioned......

It was in the news few months ago, but it was only a proposal then. Better check with the admission office.

Is it news in India? Never heard it before in Malaysia.
Well, who are the authorities I would have to contact then?
The JEE website just provide links to various IIT......
