Hi! So I'm currently a third year student in Jordan (Middle East) and will be applying to McGill as a Mechanical Engineering transfer student, and there are some things I'm not so sure about:

1) How do I calculate the CGPA for the application exactly?
I downloaded the calculator here

but at my current university we're given percentage grades, not letter grades.
I wasn't sure which letter grade/percentage scale to use so I looked up the McGill scale and found this:

I used that scale along with the credit hours assigned by my university for each course to make my calculations.
Is there anything I need to do differently?

2) In my current uni, when someone repeats a course, they cancel their first grade from the total cumulative average and include only the grade achieved the second time the course was taken.
When calculating my CGPA for my McGill application, should I do the same (without first grade) or include both grades?
(WITH my CGPA is 3.78 and WITHOUT it's 3.84, so how much does it decrease my chances of getting in if my not-so-good grades are included?)

3) It says in the Admission Standards for engineering transfer applicants that "2 semesters of chemistry" is one of the minimum prerequisites. I've already taken General Chemistry I, but there are no other chemistry courses offered for my major, so how (if at all) will that affect my admission prospects?

4) I will be taking another semester at my current university before (hopefully) going to McGill, so is there any chance I could talk to someone about the courses I'll be taking to see if I would recieve credit for them at McGill? (I know this is premature but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.)

Thanks in advance!
