Is it possible to transfer from a top college (ranked among the top 10 in the country) in India to Barnard?

Also, if one has been waitlisted as a freshman applicant, does that significantly improve the chances of transferring?

Your previous application shows that your interest is genuine. I wouldn't know about international transfer.

I was waitlisted coming out of high school, and was accepted as a transfer, even with a crap GPA (3.42). Of course, I'm not an international student, so...I'm not sure. Worth a shot!

I really admire your ambition and desire to study at Barnard.
I think it's best you asked this question to an admissions officer from Barnard, a person qualified to give you an official and correct answer. We can only hope for the best:).

ps: I am as well from outside the U.S. and I plan to apply next year. I am practically inlove with Barnard, but I see it is hard for international students to get in:(. Keep in touch! :)

Thanks for your replies guys!

Mardad and Marta- you give me hope! And plusqueparfaite, best of luck to you!
