what type of internet connection does nyu provide for its students? also, is cable tv free? (provided that u bring your own tv of course)

I think there is free cable and I'm pretty sure there is ethernet.

by internet connection, i mean like cable, t1, t3, etc....

Ethernet=T1 or T3. Basically a very fast connection. Most colleges should have this, even my high school does.

ok good, b/c if nyu had only cable connection that would really stink. T1 and above is good.

im sure they have multiple t1s or t3 or somthing like that

one t1 would not handle the load of an entire campus :)

yea 1 t1 shared amongst everyone would be like me using a 14.4k modem except slower.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem. My high school has enough T1s for the dorms and classrooms. This is a research university, I couldn't imagine people connecting like it's a 14.4K.

so, do we bring our own tvs? im assuming we do.

I think I'll just buy 1 in NYC

haha well, itll be a lot cheaper to buy it outside of NYC.. im trying to do most of my shopping outside of NY so that I can avoid the price inflation as much as possible.

just get a small t.v.
it's better if you wait and see if your roommate brought a tv him/herself.
