We’re on spring break right now, so you’re probably not going to get too much of a response. However, I can tell you that’s it’s pretty fast in general.

Umm, I’ve used speedtests on various parts of campus, and it’s generally pretty high. Like, at libraries and around most of campus, you can get around 15-20 MBPS and around 1.5-2 MB/S transfer rate, which is pretty decent as you can download a gigabyte within 8 minutes or so. The internet at the dorms, or at least in Middle Earth is only wired for some weird reason and that one is pretty slow at about 2 MBPS but transfer rate goes up to 300 kb/S. There is wireless internet near the dorms like in the study rooms really close to it, but inside the rooms itself, there is no wireless internet. It’s usable and there’s no problems loading pages inside the dorms, but download speed is still really slow overall…

From [UC Irvine - Resnet - Bandwidth! How the Residential Networks is handling it.](http://resnet.uci.edu/bandwidthFAQ.asp)

How much Bandwidth does the housing network have?
At the present time, we have over 200 mbs connection from the Residential Network to the UCI network.

Depends on if you are a the dorms and at what hours you are online, although my friend who works at ResNet said they increased the cap for bandwidth sometime last year.

If your in the on-campus apartments (VDC/Norte/Camino) you should have pretty darn fast rates. These aren’t regulated by ResNet and they upgraded at the beginning of this academic year. (Too bad I moved out right after they upgraded…)

A community college called Irvine Valley College has the fastest internet for community college.

Download speed: 100.7 MB/s
Upload speed: 75.5 MB/s

@ lawlking: That’s interesting. I go there, but I never took notice of the connection speed. What’s the usual connection speed for a community college?

Anything on the internet at Campus Village?

WHERE THE **** DID YOU GET THOSE SPEEDS =0!!! (gg if you’re just ■■■■■■■■)

lmao naw I havn’t hacked speedtest.net results in a long ass time XD my friend posted it up a while ago, figured it was worth saving haha

Just saying, that’s not even possible anywhere, even Fiber Optics doesn’t go that fast…I think UCB maxed out at around 55 MBPS and that was the fastest in the US I think, or maybe just Cali, but yeah, 200+ MBPS, yeah, no…
