Internships in/around Chapel Hill?

I'm an OOS transfer student who just got accepted to Carolina and am curious about the internship opportunities in the Chapel Hill area (I'm an international relations/poli sci major). I'm not too familiar with North Carolina, but it seems pretty clear that Chapel Hill doesn't offer a huge number of internships.

Does anyone have any insight into the difficulty of finding and being accepted for internships while at UNC? Since two major universities are in such close proximity (UNC and Duke), does this also increase competition for top internships?

There are plenty of internships in the RTP area, however I’m not sure if that will hold true for your major.

Bump! As a transfer student, this is pretty important to me. Anyone have any more insight?

There are a lot of non-profit/political/advocacy internships in Raleigh, but few places have offices in Chapel Hill itself.

I don’t think there would be major opportunities for internships specifically related to international relations during the school year, but I think that’s true of all American cities except New York and Washington DC.

See [Research Triangle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Research Triangle - Wikipedia)

Thanks. I probably should have specified, but I’m actuallly looking to intern in something a little more business-related rather than strictly political.
