I'm going to be interviewing there in a couple weeks, and I'm just wondering if anyone with insight could give me advice on what to do to prepare and if there's anything I should do/avoid?

I've never interviewed at a college before and I really like skidmore, so I don't want to mess it up just because I don't know what to expect.

My son interviewed at Skidmore a couple of years ago. It was very informal, more of a conversation about what you like, what you want to do, etc. In a conversational manner, express your interest in Skidmore and why; then, just be yourself.
Have some legitimate questions about the school (stuff that is not easy to find out from their website).
Relax and good luck.

Are there any questions I should plan for? I can answer questions truthfully when they are asked but are there questions they will expect me to have pondered extensively?

If you are genuinely interested, show it. Be sincere and enthusiastic. I think the worst would be to come off as too cocky, or overconfident (I’m applying to better schools, this is a safety), or “I don’t know anything about this school but my parents want me to interview”.

Be willing to say what interests you about this school. And what would you bring to Skidmore that should make us want you?
