What types of questions do they ask you at the WFU interviews?
Hi, I will give you my daughters’s experience. She had a portfolio with a notebook and pen (to take notes) and also a printed resume containing descriptions her activities and service. She gave the interviewer a copy of the resume. They mostly talked about her activities, why she did them, were there challenges, etc. also, in her notebook she had a few questions to ask the interviewer, for example hers was a Wake alum, and daughter asked about her experiences at Wake, why she choose it, what are her favorite Wake traditions, etc. Basically be able to talk all about your activities, hometown, family, why you are interested in Wake. I’m sure you have been told this but it’s not questions and answers, it’s a conversation. They want to get to know you. Good luck!
My son had his interview at the school Tuesday morning. It was conversational and very relaxed. The admissions counselor asked about his high school experience, favorite book, achievements that were enumerated on the online questionaire, politics, and so forth and so on. The interview meandered into all sorts of areas and was a genuine two way conversation. He felt like the counselor knew him well at the end, which I assume is the purpose of the interview. He also felt like he got to know the counselor as well, which was unexpected and a real positive for his feelings toward the school. He didn’t bring any support materials, said that the admissions website asks students not to bring portfolios or resumes. It was generally a no stress event, and he left the school feeling really good about the interview and Wake Forest. This is our second go round, sister is a rising junior at Wake and really wants her brother there for her senior year.
