Hi!

Although I interviewed (holy cow) 4 years ago at this point, I do not think that questions change very much. The questions will vary more by particular interviewer.

I was asked the normal questions - why do you want to come to Wake? What are you doing in school? What are some of your hobbies? Etc. In interviews with other schools, I was asked some more strange questions. The thing is that the interviewers do not expect you to have perfect answers for off the wall questions. Best advice for this situation: Stay calm & have fun with it!

My best advice overall for her is to not be nervous - tell her to just be herself! She should try to come up with a couple of questions about the school/programs beforehand (not like: Where are you located again? but you know… such as: I am interested in being an [abc] major and I heard you have a great program, can you tell me [xyz] about it?). The questions should be ACTUAL questions she has about the school though; I think they can tell if you are asking for the sake of asking.

I actually just had my interview on Monday at Wake Forest! It had to be one of the least stressful times of my life! My interviewer just took an interest in who I was as a person. There isn’t anything to worry about just be yourself. I was asked about who I am as a person and why I wanted to go to Wake and the interview just progressed from there. I’m not even sure if they have questions already listed, I think they just try to make it as much like a conversation as possible! Best of luck and Go Deacs!
