Interview Attire

So I set up my interview for a week and a half from now and I'm just wondering what I should wear for the interview, also, this is my first interview (and GU is my #1) so do you guys have any tips?

Dress business casual. As for tips, frankly, just don’t sweat it.

thanks a lot.

I don’t know if this will help, but mine was a very formal one whereas my friend’s interviewer told her specifically not to wear anything nice. It really all depends on the interviewer, but if you weren’t told anything specific, I would say it’s always best to overdress. As for tips, you should really convey your interest in the school. Many questions I got were EC, course-load, future plans, etc related. Also, go in with questions of your own. As long as you appear to be comfortable and can carry a conversation, you will be fine. The interviewer will be the one asking the majority of the questions anyway. Good luck!

Business casual all the way but also , be comfortable in what you wear .

I go to a Catholic high school and I have to wear a shirt and tie with slacks. I was just thinking about putting a sport coat on and just wearing that.

That should be fine, even if it is a little overdressing maybe? It’s a not a full out suit though.

No need for the sport coat. The shirt/tie with nicer slacks will be fine. Just make sure you looks neat and not disheveled! Good luck.

Yes, the critical part of the interview itself is to be yourself and demonstrate why Georgetown needs you. That is the critical part of the equation. Your interviewer should say or feel after the fact that Georgetown needs to have you for its next class. The interview at G-town is weighed very, very heavily, so be very careful, and make sure not to offend the sensibilities of your interviewer. This is a critical practice for your future in the world, because one will always need to do interviews and meet people, whether on one side or the other, so be very careful and make sure that you emphasize all the points on your resume that differentiate you from everybody else. You really need to stand out, and also, I don’t know if it was just my interviewer, but I think it really helps if you sound firmly committed to your choice of major and can demonstrably and clearly explain your feelings about it. I think that was what really impressed her most was my genuine passion for my prospective major. Also, as always, make sure you talk about things that Georgetown has/offers (ie don’'t discuss your undying love to major in Forest Management), and you’ll do fine. Very few interviewers will write a scathing report, but a lukewarm one will not do you much justice on “the table”, and a marvelous one may push you well into the admit pile.

In short, be confident, be passionate, and, above all else, be yourself.

Would an argyle sweater be too much to wear over my shirt and tie?

hello can some one please help me put together my essay on the advantage of breast feeding for the baby and mother
