Interview Dilemma

So.. about 2 weeks ago, an interviewer from UPenn emailed and asked me to choose a date for my interview. I chose to do the interview that upcoming weekend. But an ice/snow storm hit the area and left the roads all slippery. So the night before my interview, my interviewer asked to cancel because of the weather. He promised me that he'll send me an e-mail the next week to let me know what other dates we can meet up for the interview. I answered back, saying that I'll wait for his response. Therefore.. I waited.. and waited.. but at the end of the week, there was no response. Curious, I emailed him asking if he had figured out the date for our interview. But, once again.. no response.

Should I email him again or should I email the UPenn admissions office? I wonder if he's trying to ignore me or something.. or maybe UPenn has already decided to reject me.. so they don't even want to bother interviewing me :( I have no idea what to do.. please help me..

Thanks in advance..

Do both. E-mail him again and also contact admissions and explain. The interview isn’t essential to your being accepted or not, and don’t assume that you are going to be rejected either.

an explanation could be most colleges have a deadline for alums to file interview reports and the unfortunate delay carried you over penn’s deadline? so just send the emails politely and to be honest the interviews arent that important from my ed experience

I had something similar happening, an interviewer contacted me through email, but he wasn’t from my area, apparently UPENN by mistake listed me as if I was from his area, he wrote and I replied telling him I wasnt from his area but I was willing to do it through skype or phone or something, well he never replyed…Ive sent him like a thousand emails and no reply, so I just stopped and assumed interview season was over.
Rude from him for not answering but oh well…

When I talked with my interviewer, she said that she needed to turn in her summary of her interviewers by feb 20. Considering when you submitted this post, my guess is that it was a little too late to conduct an interview. But, your interviewer should’ve still contacted you!

I had similar problems with my interviewer for another college. I called the admissions office and they explained that it’s really not a big deal if you don’t wind up getting an interview.
You haven’t done anything wrong and they’re definitely not going to reject you for not being able to get an interview, haha! Just relax and wait. :)
