Interview For All?

I haven’t gotten any info for an interview :(

Me neither :-(

Don’t worry, guys, there’s a lot of interviews that take place in February. They might contact you within the next week or two.

Grrr. Someone at my school has already been contacted. Contact me! Contact me!

I was contacted, but I don’t WANT an interview! I missed my interviewer’s call, and I don’t want to call him back… I’m nervous that he is going to ask things like, “Which novel do you find most intellectually stimulating and why? What is the philosophical reasoning behind your decision to apply to Brown?” etc…

Do I HAVE to have the interview now that I’ve been contacted?!?!

you are reading much to much into this. I think it would be a poor reflection on your part not to contact your interviewer and schedule an interview. The interviews are supposed to help the student applying and put a “face” on an impersonal process. It is your opportunity to find out more about the school you may be spending the next 4 years of your life at. My son’s interview was at the local library-very casual and he asked questions like Why Brown? What do you want to study there? What clubs/organizations might you like to join? He did not ask any real tough questions and it was not a “test”. Don’t sweat this-it is very casual and and it would be in your best interest to contact the interviewer and meet-I think it would not look too good on your behalf if you were to ignore the call. Good luck.

Of all the interviews I’ve had so far, NONE of them asked questions like that. Most of these interviews are conducted by alumni in a casual atmosphere like a coffee shop, library, or someone’s house. In fact, in the Brown Interviewer’s guide it says NOT to pressure or “drill” the applicant.

Here’s what the Brown Alumni Interview handbook says in case you’re still iffy about the interview (which IMO you shouldn’t, it’s not that bad at all  ):

Ha, the day after I posted my last message, I was contacted.
I have my interview tomorrow. Whee!
I think that the interview is one of my strong points… even though it doesn’t really count for anything.

You know what. They all say that, but if everyone gets an interview except you, even if the interviewer rates you as average, it must count for something, right? 99+ 0.1 is till > 99 (oh geez im such a nerd)

Those who got Brown Interviews, did any of you apply PLME?

I got a call at 9 pm tonight, and somehow, have an interview at 2:45 tomorrow. :-/ eeeep.
