Interview or not?

Hey guys I may sound stupid and I am admit my post is kind of... But well here it goes...

I am an international student from Chihuahua, Mexico. I applied to Wharton, and my stats to be honest are really low from Wharton. SAT 1800, GPA 4.0 (No AP classes available at my school) Lot's of ECS, great essay I guess. Nevertheless, Today morning I recieved an email from a girl that wants to interview me for Penn. She told me that if I could go to el El Paso(the nearest american city to my city) But I told her I can't. Then she told me that we can make the interview by phone or Skype. So I accept it. Do you think I and her also, will be wasting our time considering my chances? Or maybe this interview seems like my opportunity to be at least a ''qualified applicant''.

Tips or advices are really appreciated

Thank you guys

If you’re the least bit serious about your application to Penn, take the interview. Especially since she offered to Skype you. Rejecting it will reflect badly on your application, and will likely hurt you. It’s only about an hour, so you may as well.

I don’t think you’ll be wasting her time; she offered to do it as an alum volunteer, and she seems genuine in wanting to talk to you (I doubt she would’ve offered to call/Skype you otherwise). Plus, with the exception of your SATs, I don’t think your stats are weak. Think of this as a way to improve on your app.
Good luck! :)
