Interview problem- what should I do?

A week ago the alumni who was assigned to do my Tufts contacted me. He told me I could meet him on either a Monday or Tuesday at 5 P.M. at his office. Any week day isn't really convenient for me (I would have to miss practice after school), but I obviously wanted to do what was most convenient for him, so I told him either day was fine. I just mapquested his office and realized it was an hour and a half away from my house! I don't drive, and both of my parents work during the week, so there is no way I could get either of them to drive me. I figured I would just get a friend to drop me off, but I'm not going to ask someone to drive me 3 hours for an interview. I live in an area where I assume there would be closer alumni (near Morristown, NJ). Should I request a different interviewer? I really don't want to be difficult or make it seem like I don't appreciate that he was willing to interview me, because I know being an interviewer is voluntary and I think it's great that he's willing to give his time to help Tufts. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should deal with this? Thanks!

I would bd honest and explain your situation. How did you get the interview?

Agreed. I would just explain to your interviewer your situation. They’ll almost definitely work out some other time with you and will probably be willing to meet you at some other location. Most of my interviews were just in some Starbucks so there’s probably some place they can meet halfway. The way the process was explained to me, it seems like the interviewers work as a regional bloc so maybe your interviewer will ask somebody else in their bloc?

^^^^ What they said.
