Ok...I'm a bit confused now as to what I should do.

After repeatedly trying to find someone through the online interview system, I got a response from a guy in Houston. He gave me his number and told me to call, but between school and my app I wasn't able to call him for several days. Finally, feeling a bit foolish, I emailed him and told him I wouldn't be able to make the time but that I really appreciated him getting back with me.

So now I'm caught up and I think I've spoken too soon; I'd like to call him up anyway and set up an interview, but I don't want to seem like an idiot. Should I go ahead and call him to set up the interview or will I just seem really indecisive and unorganized (which I am).

I wouldn't worry about it. I had an interview this monday with a senior at Wes. It was mostly a chance for me to ask questions. My interviewer didn't even take notes. I don't think an interview is crucial.

Ok thank you so much. As much as I'd love to ask questions about Wes, it would be a lot less stressful if I could just focus on my application. I'll do just that.

I disagree that interview at Wesleyan is not important. The school's website clearly states that although the interview is not required it is strongly suggested an applicant have an interview and further states that they are evaluative. I think they can make the difference if it is a close admissions call when the interviewer notes that a student is a good fit. Further it shows interest.

Dana's Dad

That might be true for HS seniors, but I think interviews are less important for transfers. Even my interviewer said that the interivew is to gauge interest. She said for a transfer, the decision is really based on the college transcript and essay, then the high school records. She said what may sway admissions is your major, especially if you are transferring into the junior class.

I read on their site that they STILL want SAT scores for junior transfers. Do you think they put much weight in that? Most schools would look at the college you attended and your scores. My son's friend (like himself) didn't test well on long tests, only got a 1250, but has been getting A's at H.Cross and wants to transfer....time will tell.
