Interview waived? How?

Today when I logged into to MyMIT account, it shows that my interview has been waived.
But how? All my other friends have got their EC's ID and it is to be mentioned that I live in the same city as my friends, so how come my interview gets waived? I am in serious trouble now. Need advice.

If you live in an area with limited ECs, the ECs can only interview so many applicants, and the rest will have their interviews waived.

It’s not a problem to have your interview waived – it doesn’t reflect poorly on you in any way.

You can contact the EC office and let them know that others around you have been assigned an interviewer (sometimes there are hiccups in the assignments), but it’s possible they will tell you what I’ve just told you.

Perhaps I forgot to add that at the start of the applications, my EC’s ID was also visible but today it’s not. This is the case. What should I do?

It could be that the EC is no longer available for other reasons. Try emailing Admissions, or giving them a call? They might know why your situation has changed.

My EC’s back again! I think there might have been some problem with MyMIT systems. Thanks!

Not unheard of sadly. I am a regional chair for the Educational Council, and it is about this time of year that EC’s who have moved over the summer remember to tell me about that. Fear not; these things are always worked out, but there is always a fair amount of shifting in the first week of September.

Thanks! May be that’s the case. :)
