Interview-Whats it like?

Yeah I didn't get a call yet... I emailed Princeton admissions and the national Alumni committee because they dont have contact info for Dallas, TX alumni on the website. =/ I'm scared... did they forget me?

If you're a forgettable person then quite possibly. JK, I'm just playin'. I just went through the interview myself, and things went pretty darn well. If things don't work out with Princeton, I still will be content knowing that I got a free turkey sandwich in the process.

Lol...."man-in-training"....:p

Went decently for me; not great, not terrible. It wasn't really deep heavy duty scanning of me as it was a nice conversation about Princeton. I spent just as much time asking about Princeton as I did answering about myself. Okay, on the whole.

Hey i didnt get a free turkey sandwitch, im green with envy :)

what kind of questions do they ask you???

mine didnt ask me any questions.. it was mostly me asking her questions. theyre not allowed to talk about scores/resumes/grades.

just got my interview call!!!!!!!!!!!!

are you sure they're not allowed to talk about resume stuff? I just got THE CALL and my interviewer said to bring a resume (IM SO EXCITED HEEEEEHHEEE)

oh.. it might just apply to me then. i dunno.

They told me not to bring anything and to come very casual...

THe guy told me casual also, but casual to me is probably not casual to him. I'm guessing the general rule is no jeans? I'm planning on wearing khakis and a sweater.

yeah i'm from dallas too and haven't gotten an interview call either...i'm scared! lemme know if you find out anything please!!!

It is already mid-Nov. And I haven't received a call. Does this indicate that my application is not good enough for Princeton?

nah, that just means they don't have enough ppl at your place, don't know how they do it (first come first serve? or just randomly), anyways don't worry, interviews aren't necessary if you have good stats however if you have so-so stats then...yeah.. like me ^_^

Okay, I had the interview today, and I decided that casual means "business casual." The interviewers all had nice slacks and button up shirts with no tie, I wore a flowered skirt and solid shirt and seemed to be fine. The girl who looked underdressed compared to everyone tehre was the one in black jeans, an orange t-shirt with some characters on the front and a jean jacket.

Anyways, it was very nice, he asked alot of questions about what I do and my view on academics, my favorite activities, what I may want to orient my carrer towards, what I want to take away from college, etc, and answered some questions I had. It was about an hour long.

I had my interview, and I wore some blue khaki-type pants and a polo shirt. My interviewer was in a t-shirt. Anyways it was a lovely 45 minute chat about Princeton and me and all of that. Other than the "what do you like about Princeton" question it wasn't structured in a question format...we just talked about whatever came up in the conversation.
The lady who interviewed me was very cool and very funny. The interview wasn't nearly as intimidating as I had expected...after a while I felt like I wasn't even being interviewed anymore, just having a chat about Princeton and what I'm into. Remember, these people want to like you; otherwise, they wouldn't volunteer as interviewers. Just be yourself and give a firm handshake and you'll be fine.

I had my interview today, too.
i talked with my interviewer for 1 hr and 30 min lol
like friendofdarwin said, just be prepare to answer "why do u want to go to princeton" then u'll be fine

How long do you think the typical (successful) interview lasts?

It mostly depends on how many questions you ask your interviewer. I don't think a quantity of time really reflects the quality of the interview.
