How should I prepare for my alumni interview? How long are they usually, what should I wear, and what should I bring with me?

My alumni interview was a little over an hour. I wore a dress shirt, tie, and dress pants. In fact, the interviewer and I almost had on exactly the same clothes. The only thing I brought was my resume and he said it was helpful in highlghting my activites and stuff and that i should send it in with my app. Nothing is really required to be brought tho.

My daughter had an on-campus interview last week when we visited. The interviewer was a current undergrad who took her for a short walk around campus during the interview. My daughter brought her resume and a sample of her creative writing; he didn't look at either and told her to take them with her as he had no idea what to do with them. It didn't seem he was too prepared for interviewing, didn't ask many questions nor was he a particularily impressive representative of the school unless you're impressed with fraternity guys and football players. My daughter said it was much more informal than any other interview she'd had, so in that respect, no pressure.

ive done both the on campus and alumni interviews. The on campus one is way informative and is really nothing to worry about. The alumni interviews are pretty formal; however the guy I had was laid back and kept it real the whole interview :-)
