Are interviews important factors in the admissions process? Also, how do I go about setting up an off-campus interview?

there are no interviews

Really? I thought that there were and when I called the admissions office they said that I should be getting information in the mail.

There is no interview

"Is an interview necessary for admission? No. While interviews are not part of the admission process, we strongly encourage prospective students and their families to take full advantage of their visit to campus. The Admissions Staff welcomes your questions and is ready to assist you."

FYI - my son was told by an admissions rep that they are in the process of training alumni to conduct interviews and he will be notified to set up an interview. Hmm.

I called the admissions office and they said that there are alumni interviewers in 13 cities and mine is not one of them. He said that interviews were not very important factors and that I shouldn't worry about it.

I had an alumni interview so I know that they do exist. I got something in the mail telling me to e-mail and they would set one up for me it was really easy.

hmm. from what boxcar said it sounds like it's a new thing. my mistake.
