the fact that the person who coordinates the interviews never received my information, at least in my case! but i guess that what matters now is that we are done with it. And those who didn't have it yet, you should be having it in the next week or so! I'm so glad I contacted them, otherwise, I would still be waiting for an interview!

um it's not that long... the applications weren't due until december 10th, and if you sent yours in around then, you didn't get confirmation till a while later... i only received mine a week or two ago, and i left my interviewer a message but haven't heard back from her. should i call and leave another message? it's her home line, so what do you think would be a good time to call where i actually reach her and not her machine?

well you were suppossed to send in your personal data form ahead of your application so that they could set up an interview. The application wasn't due until january.

ilovedogs,
i had the same issue, i called twice during the week and then she got back with me, she had been out of town. I always tried calling around 7pm or so... maybe thats not a bad idea.
venus121, yeah, the personal data was supposed to be sent ahead of time, but i know of friends who sent it along with the application and had the interview even before me, so it is definitely on a case by case basis.
good luck you guys...

the person who is interviewing me told to bring a copy of my application, my transcript, and my essays with me......isn't the interview supposed to be about stuff that may not be covered by the application?

thanks ceciuy :) my interviewer actually just called me back! ahhh!! we're having it on thursday at 5... i'm kind of really nervous.

my interview is at her apartment, isn't that a little weird? i mean i guess not really bc she's in my neighborhood. where were your interviews?

bluehunnydew- that's not that weird... they can use your application to see what you've been doing in your spare time, and then ask you specific questions to see what your true passions are... i mean my resume shows that i tutored a girl at public school but it doesn't say anything about how much i enjoy it, etc. you know what i mean? it says i'm vice president of environmental club but what exactly have i done... i can understand why they'd want you to bring it.

my interviewer didn't say anything about bringing a copy of my application... so there's no reason to, right?

oh ok, it's just that i've already done 5 interviews, and none of the interviewers have asked me to bring anything. but of course, every school does things differently.

Having to bring things is kind of strange, I brought things to my first two interviews and they basically just put them aside, and no one else asked for anything.

Interviews at houses/apartments are very normal. They probably aren't the majority, but they're quite common. I had my first two interviews in houses so I kind of assumed they were the norm, but there's a fair amount of people freaking out about having to go to some one's house.

can i request another interviewer?

I was supposed to have my interviewer today. I had called my interviewer twice and emailed her once. it took her over a week and a half to get back to me. she said she couldn't do weekends and weekday evenings. she suggested i come in today b/c it's president's day and there's no school. well, my school sucks and we had school today. she asked what time i got out of school. i said 2:30. she said for me to come to her office after school. i asked what time. she said it didn't matter, just come after school. i think ok, kinda informal but w/e.
i get there a little before 4. (it's about an hour drive btw). she says it's time for her to go home. i should have gotten there earlier! she also says we can't reschedule so we have to do the interview over the phone. i thank her for her time as I'm about to leave and hold out my hand. she gives me the limpest, half-second handshake.
i would really like a face-to-face interview.

I don't know about asking for another interviewer, but you guys have to remember that these people do this voluntarily and take time out of their schedules to do this....it's not like they are getting paid to do this.

i farted really loudly during my interview. do you think that'll hurt my chances?

omg hahhhahaha thats so funny booptroop... yeah they dont accept people who fart so you're definitely not in, sucks...

hahaha, booptroop... that's really funny. you really made me laugh. are you serious? did your interviewer notice???? well, i once almost mentioned another school for another interview (not gtown) instead of the one that I was interviewing for, luckily the interviewer laughed and told me not to even worry. hopefully to some extent that also happened with you, but it is still funny, and i dont know how it was or the circumstances haha... but who knows.... -tell them you had a nervous breakdown-
dont worry booptroop, the interview is not your admissions and even if it was, your emergency doesnt say how good or bad you are yourself! =) but tell us what you interviewer said or how s/he reacted!

he kinda looked down at his papers and sucked in his cheekbones and did that thing with his lips, like folded his lips, elongating his moustache area to prevent himself from laughing. i was like, "indigestion"

haha, i can picture that already.
amazing, perfect time for "indigestion" lol.

Three weeks is up; I'm writing my chairman a letter.

yes! definitely do that ASAP...

absolutely timeless booptroop...did you laugh too? I would have bust out laughing :)

i was laughing inside. i thought i was gonna burst. buti didn't. thank god! i have this snorting problem, you see.
