Interview???

Do schools such as Harvard and Columbia email you to set up interviews? Its been about 2 weeks and I haven’t recieved any notifications. I’m scared! Everyone else is having theirs!!

Yes, I believe it is through email. I’d wait a couple weeks before worrying about it. Colleges don’t always get to everyone though, but they do try to interview as many applicants as possible. Some require you to set it up on their site, if you want to look into that

For those big schools like Harvard and Columbia, they sometimes can’t get interviews out to every prospective undergrad. It’s nothing personal or anything like that, just a mere lack of availability. Don’t take it personal. Good luck!

Or don’t worry about it at all. Many students won’t get interviewed – apps>interview slots. That’s how it is. Most interviews are randomly assigned and having or not having one is no indication of future admit/reject. Thus it’s absolutely possible for everyone in your school EXCEPT you to be interviewed – but it doesn’t matter.

I agree with the above posters–don’t worry about interviews too much. At least at Columbia, interviews are not even assigned to applicants by the Admissions Office, but rather by the Alumni Representative Committee. Since interviewers generally tend to consist of a finite number of alumni volunteers, it’s not always possible to always give every applicant an interview. Interviews also run from October to around March, so there’s still a chance you may get one. I personally never got an interview from Columbia or most of the schools I ended up receiving acceptance letters from; I wouldn’t stress.

Interviews typically do not matter. They are normally by an alumni of the school and are more informational. At most schools they have no effect on admission.
