How long did it take for an interviewer to contact you after your appliaction admission
It really depends on your local alumni committee and the availability of the interviewers. Last year, for Regular Decision, I received an interview request just three or four days after I submitted my application.
and you might never be contacted, depending on the availability of volunteers in your area.
@T26E4 what’s considered as “area”?
There’s a Harvard Alumni Club 2.5 hours from me – is that still considered in my area?
I don’t have the Harvard council mapping area. I simply don’t know. 2.5 hrs seems far however. For my Yale interviewing region, our furthest regions are about 45 minutes drive from the nearest alums. Late in the RD interviewing session, we did get some requests from Yale to perform virtual (Skype) interviews with 2 kids from distant parts of the state who were clearly stand out applicants. Normally, being that they lived outside our practical environs, they would not have been contacted for an interview.
I think you’re an outlier and in normal course, won’t be contacted. But Harvard may have good numbers of virtual interviewers and you might get a call. Good luck.
Maybe you could tell us exactly how many volunteer interviewers are signed up at that club.
It’s been a month since I submitted my application
does this mean that there is not an alumni in my region avaliable to proceed the interview??
^^^ Possibly. The other option – and this is something you will not find mentioned on a website – in evaluating applications from your area, Admissions had too many stellar applications and did not put a priority on your application, therefore your application was sent to the back-burner, to be interviewed if alumni had the time to do so. That’s not the politically acceptable answer anyone wants to hear, but you will find out if that’s the truth come mid-December.
