Interview

My Interview is in two weeks, does anyone have any tips?

don't worry about it too much....from my experience, Deis admissions people are so nice. Admissions offices in general are friendly, but Deis tops them all. They're also all somewhat disorganized and late, my regional officer even told me about "Deis time" where everything begins 10 minutes after schedule. :) So that's just one less thing to freak out over.

My interview was mostly just a "talk about your passions and your out-of-school time". So just mentally prepare whatever you think your interviewer should know about you and your interests, what makes you stand out. Unfortunately my interview was my first, and I gave sort of a one-dimensional glimpse at me. I kinda regret it! Luckily that's what essays and supplements are for. :)

Also, be sure to talk about why you want to go to their school if its your first choice! An interview is a great "outlet" for that answer outside your application.

I am applying ed to Brandeis, so ir will be my first interview. Brandeis does not have a supplementary essay question...

im applying ed to brandeis too and my interview was my first one... i know how you're feeling but everything went really well. its true that the brandeis reps are very very nice. Just be yourself and talk up your strengths and reason for loving brandeis. good luck!!!!

I actually have a question about the interview. I just signed up for an alumni one last Monday (around the time I realized that I wanted to apply ED1 to Brandeis). It said it would take 4 weeks for an alumni to contact me, and while that falls just before the deadline, I need to know if I will be able to have the interview and at the same time have it reach the admissions office in time. I have emailed the admissions office but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

You're fine. The ED submission deadline is for your stuff, not the Alumni Admissions Council (AAC). The AAC member you meet with will fax the report to the office as soon as he/she finishes, and your application won't be reviewed for a little while after the ED deadline anyway.

And the Brandeis staff isn't disorganized, per se. They've just had unusually high turn over the past couple of years, so a lot of the staff is new. Give them a break.
