interview

my interview is in 2 hours!!! 9 PM at her house after her kids go to bed!
I am really excited and nervous!!
Hope it goes well fingers crossed

I'm off to my interview

good luck guys

just came back from mine! 1 and 1/2 hours.... he talked most of the time though.. i dunno, he graduated in 1970 so obviously MIT has changed a bit since then..

My interview went great, talked for about an hour and a half...at a small quiet cafe. The EC was a very nice woman, graduated in the mid-80s but still travels back and forth to Boston (she completed her undergrad and grad degrees at MIT). We talked about everything really (even smoking in public places!!!). Covered the standard questions (Why MIT? What major? Why? etc...) to my favorite activities, what unpleasant experiences I've gone through, how I manage my hectic schedule, my school, family, friends, her impression of MIT, her favorite/least favorite things about it, Boston, the food, what there is to do besides study, courses at Harvard, winter in Mass., residence halls, diversity on campus, MIT quirkiness, even dicussed some of the other universities I'm applying to and her experiences at them if she had any, and plenty of other things which I can't remember. Overall, it was an interesting conversation, learned plenty about MIT and if possible it made me love it even more! Hopes for the best...

I forgot to add, just a small piece of advice for all those who are yet to have their interviews: Relax, yes it is one of the most important events of your life so far, but honestly, the ECs are just wonderful people, they really listen to what you say, interact, and most importantly WANT TO make the effort to know you as a person. They will not interrogate you nor will they scare you away, and the more you act like your true self the better it'll go...And they're willing to answer any kind of questions you have, regardless of how simple they are, so don't be shy, this really is your chance to shine and learn more about MIT and university life in general from someone who's been there so don't hesitate to speak up your mind and make the most of it, they'll love it!
Good luck!
