I recently recieved an email from brown stating that an alumni volunteer would contact me to set up an interview. I was wondering if this absolutely guarantees that I will get an interview? And if so…will they be contacting me through email or through phone? I realllyy do not want to be caught off guard if they call.
Thank so muchh.

Some interviewers call. Some email. There's no way to tell which one you'll get. Since you've been told that someone will be contacting you, you shouldn't be caught off guard if they do call. All you'll need for that phone call is your calendar to set up the date of the interview.

so by recieving that email, I am automatically guaranteed an interview?

Brown's goal is to interview 100% of applicants. Guarantee is too strong a word. It's always possible that the person assigned to interview you ends up not contacting you (they're a flake, they are really busy, they have a family emergency, any host of things can happen). You have an email from the person who arranges the interviews, so if anything goes wrong you know who to contact.
